Description

The bard is also a rogue, but he is very different from the thief. His strength is his pleasant and charming personality. With it and his wits he makes his way through the world. A bard is a talented musician and a walking storehouse of gossip, tall tales, and lore. He learns a little bit about everything that crosses his path; he is a jack-of-all- trades but master of none. While many bards are scoundrels, their stories and songs are welcome almost everywhere.

Advantages:
- Bard Song gives bonuses to allies
- High Lore
- Spellcasting - Mage Spells
- Pick Pockets ability

Disadvantages:
- Human or Half-Elf only. Cannot use shields. Must be partially Neutral in Alignment
- May not wear heavy armour
- May not cast spells in any armour

Opinions

Bardan says : A Bard serves a few purposes in a party. He is a backup mage, an identifier of magic items, and a backup tank (with the spell 'Tenser's Transformation') Best left ion the back with missile weapons, the Bard can be invaluable in a pinch, as his varied talents can come in useful virtually anywhere.

Iridur Morningblade says : Well, I used to play with a bard to boost the capabilities of my other party members... you know, bard song is cool, and the spellcasting can save the rest of the party butts a lot of times. Not to mention in SoA a bard is the main user of the Equalizer, a fair good sword even though not enough in ToB.
