Description
The cleric is a generic priest (of any mythos) who tends to the spiritual needs of a community. He is both protector and healer. He is not purely defensive, however, and when evil threatens the cleric is well suited to seek it out on its own ground and destroy it. The opposite is true of evil clerics as well.
Advantages:
- Heavy Armour selection
- Can cast divine spells while wearing armour
- Turn Undead
Disadvantages:
- May not use slashing or piercing weapons
- No weapons specialisation

Bardan says : A virtual necessity in BG2, a cleric can be a one-man shop for healing. After taking down deamons, dragons and liches, even the most doughty of parties will need a little TLC, and the priest is just the person to administer it. Some powerful spells make the buffed-up priest a capable warrior too. Give him a few magical items, and you've got yourself an undead-killer also.
