Description

The wizard strives to be a master of magical energies, shaping them and casting them as spells. To do so, he studies strange tongues and obscure facts and devotes much of his time to magical research. A wizard must rely on knowledge and wit to survive. Wizards are rarely seen adventuring without a retinue of fighters and men-at-arms. Because there are different types (or schools) of magic, there are different types of wizards. The mage studies all types of magic and learns a wide variety of spells. His broad range makes him well suited to the demands of adventuring.

Advantages:
- Spellcasting

Disadvantages:
- Low Hitpoints

Opinions

Bardan says : Self-explanatory, really. A highly intelligent mage is necessary in BG2. Use him to destroy enemies, remove their protections, or to protect or enhance your party. The mage can do it all if you are prepared to be ... well ... prepared! There are lots of mage-enhancing items to be had, and by the end of the game, your mage may well be the most valued member of your party! Teach him a wide variety of spells from scrolls, and with a bit of forethought, he can help you handle almost any situation.
