Where he is

Cernd can be found in jail in TradeMeet

Biography

When asked about his past, Cernd declares in a steady and modest tone that it has been his honor to serve nature in whatever capacity she did call upon him. It is clear that he is a dedicated servant, and though his demeanor is contemplative and well measured, you are certain that he would not hesitate to risk himself if it would best serve the greater balance.

Special

Cernd has a quest centered around a young relative ...

Bardan says, "Roundly held to be one of the worst NPCs in the game, Cernd's stats are a major turn off, and druids are not well loved as roleplay characters. However, Cernd is thoughtful and relatively quiet. As a member of your party, he does not clash much with anyone and will not be the cause of a party break up. His super-high wisdom makes him a great cleric, and a one-man healing store.

Cernd's main strengths are his fantastic Wisdom score, which makes him one of the best clerical spellcasters in the game. He can memorise a bunch of healing spells and has the useful druid spells too - namely Summon Fire Elemental. No chance of the elemental turning on you, it's a strong creature, and it lasts for a loooong time.

Of course, none of this is much use if Cernd is dead all the time, which is where his fantastic shapeshifting abilities come in. In his human form he is weak and rather sickly. However, when he turns into a Werewolf, or even better, a Greater Werewolf, his Stat line becomes awesome. his strength, Dexterity and Constitution vault upwards, and his hitpoints rise considerably. The Greater Werewolf form regenerates, and best of all - there is no time limit. Cernd can stay in werewolf form as long as he wants. Even better than this, Cernd can buff himself up with Ironskins and then polymorph into a werewolf. Deadly, deadly stuff when played correctly.

In terms of equipment, give him a powerful sling, a powerful staff and leave his cloak untouched. Basically, that's it. He should be used as a healer/buffer mainly, and using his werewolf forms in tough fights. If you happen to run out of polymorphs, then keep him in back with the sling."

Kothoses says, "Cernd is very much a niche character in that he has his uses but it needs a specialist player to get the most from him. That said if you have him in your party and go to the Promenade he has his own quest. Cernd's quest is very thought provoking and hes character shows depth and, well, you will see the rest. He is not quite as moralistic as he may seem though, that's for sure."
