Biography

Imoen chuckles when you ask her about her past, assuming you are just trying to keep her mind on happier times and places. She indulges you, and certainly does cheer up when speaking of how you spent your youths together in Candlekeep. She arrived there the same as you, in the company of your foster father Gorion, but despite this similarity she grew up much more carefree than you did. Indeed, her lighthearted outlook has long kept her immune to the hardships of the world, though the dark confines and horrors of your current location have definitely taken their toll.

Imoen has her own quest - and it's part of the storyline!

Bardan says, "Ahh, here she is - your sister Imoen. Be prepared to leave someone behind in SpellHold, as you'll definitely want to pick up Immy. A good thief in her areas (traps and locks), she excels as a mage, whether it be in a primary or backup role. Her ability to use shortbows comes in very handy, as there are times when a spell is not needed. Also, she can wear Elven Chain armour, giving her some added protection if you want someone else ot have The Robe Of Vecna.

As to how you should equip her, that depends very much on how you are going to use her. Good weapons are - Staff of the Magi, Gesen Bow, Elven Chain, Robe of Vecna, Short Sword of Mask. Give her Rings of Wizardry if you are going to use her as your prtimary spellcaster, or give her rings of Thiviery if you want to use her as a backup mage and a primary thief. Her strength score is rather atrocious, but this game is swimming in Belts of X Giant Strength. Give her one of those, and as she would say, you're 'good to go'!

All in all, Imoen is versatile, has good stats and when you think about it, is integral to the storyline. A must-have pickup in my opinion."
