Biography

When asked about his past, SOLAUFEIN adds little beyond what you already know. As one of a small number of good Drow he will always be an outcast. Solaufein prefers not to speak of his old life in Ust Natha. The memory of the time he shared with Phaere before she was turned against him is too poignant and the memory of her eventual hatred and death is too cruel. Still, Solaufein will admit to being the leader of the Male Fighters' Guild in Ust Natha. He is also a magician of no small talent. When Phaere was taken from him he became a fervent (but secret) follower of Eilistraee Silverhair. He can be given to brooding melancholy.

Solaufein has his own quest involving The Eclipse Bountry Hunters. They'll find you. He will romance any protagonist.

Bardan says, "The most popular of the Westley Weimer mods, Solaufein makes the brooding drow a joinable NPC. Mr Weimer has developed his own, slightly unique was of making an NPC work, but it runs smoothly and is integrated into the storyline flawlessly.

Solaufein will vary in alignment according to the alignment of the protagonist, hopefully eliminating some unfortunate and senseless reputation clashes. He will also attempt to romance the PC, regardless of race, gender, or other affairs. Solaufein is not at all akin to the Bioware standard romance of love = therapy. He has his own opinions, and will share them. He will talk philosophy with you. He's just cool.

The integration into the storyline goes down to the last detail. Solaufein will be abducted by Bodhi, and he will whup your butt a few times.

One of the best features of the Solaufein MOD is the specific quests. Your brooding friend will be hounded by his ex-goddess, and some superb enemy AI scripting leads to some fantastically difficult but rewarding fights. You will be well rewarded for the trials you go through, by some nice custom items. they don't come easy, but they're good to have if you can earn them.

As a character, Solaufein is strong. He comes equipped with some elven chain, making him a fearsome spellcasting and limb-hacking machine. He retains his ability to dimension door, and he will gradually grow more powerful as you go through the various Solaufein-related trials.

Of all the NPC MODs I've played, Solaufein is probably the most rewarding experience. Download him, play him. You won't regret it."
